54-40 guitarist relishes in band’s continued success

Vancouver alternative band 54-40 emerged from the punk scene in the late 70s and has had a string of mainstream hits through the late 80s and 90s and beyond.

Their highest charting single in Canada is 1998’s “Since When,” but they are also known for hits like “I Go Blind,” “Baby Ran,” “One Day in Your Life,” “Nice To Luv You,” “She La,” and “Ocean Pearl.”

A cover version of “I Go Blind” by Hootie & The Blowfish was featured on the 1995 soundtrack for the TV series Friends.

In 2021, “I Go Blind” was also inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame.
