Calgary expecting lower temperatures, icy conditions ahead

The City of Calgary is warning people of icy road conditions, as temperatures continue to drop and snow continues to fall.

While the city is working on clearing the busiest roads, including Crowchild Trail and Glenmore Trail, people are reminded to drive safely and bundle up before leaving their homes.

The city says its crews work “around the clock” to clear the roads for everyone’s safety, as per their priority list.

Snow is in the forecast until Monday morning, according to Environment Canada.

The temperature is expected to drop to -16 C with -23 C windchill overnight Sunday night.

On Monday, snow will fall only in the morning and start to clear in the afternoon – high of -10 C.

Temperatures will start rising on Tuesday, with a sun-cloud mix and a high of -8 C. It’s going to be cloudy and -7 C on Wednesday.
