Honeymoon Suite guitarist reflects on band’s history

By Todd Kaufman

Lead singer Johnnie Dee formed the band Honeymoon Suite in Niagara Falls back in 1981.

Two years later Dee would hook up with guitarist Derry Grehan who grew up in nearby St. Catharines, Ontario.

Grehan wrote their hit song “New Girl Now” which won them an unsigned band contest in Toronto.

42 years and counting and Honeymoon Suite have become one of the most beloved and successful bands in Canadian music history.

City’s Todd Kaufman caught up with Grehan recently to talk about the band’s history and a new album…

Honeymoon Suite’s 8th studio album is due out this summer.
