Advance voting for Calgary Heritage federal by-election opens Friday

Advance polling has officially opened for the Calgary-Heritage federal by-election Friday.
The vote was first announced back in June by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to fill the space left by Conservative MP Bob Benzen, which took effect at the beginning of this year.
The official by-election will be held on July 24.
Canadian citizens in the riding who are at least 18 years old on election day are eligible to vote in the electoral district if their home address is in Calgary Heritage as of June 19, 2023, if they can show proof of their identity and address, and are registered.

Elections Canada says most people who are registered to vote are already register in the National Register of Electors. To check if you are registered to vote, use the Online Voter Registration Service at elections.ca, call 1-800-463-6868 or contact their Elections Canada office.
Voters can also register in-person at their polling station when they go to vote.
There are also many different pieces of ID that can be used to prove one’s identity and address. The full list is available online.
Advance polling days for the Calgary Heritage by-election are Friday, July 14, Saturday, July 15, Sunday, July 16, and Monday, July 17. ahead of July election day on July 24.
Voters can also cast their ballot at their Elections Canada office until Tuesday, July 18 at 6 p.m. or via special ballot by applying before Tuesday, July 18 at 6 p.m. and returning that special ballot by mail or in person at their Elections Canada office before polls close on election day.
