Calgary police investigate fatal southeast stabbing

EMS say 18-year-old man has died after being stabbed at a hockey rink in Calgary’s southeast Tuesday evening.

Police say around 7:45 p.m. Tuesday, officers were called for reports of an assault involving a weapon at an athletic park near Copperstone Road SE.

When they arrived, investigators found a man suffering from stab wounds.

EMS also said the individual had been bear sprayed.

One resident who spoke told CityNews, called the situation “unsettling.”

Others described the community as “peaceful.”

The man was taken to hospital in life threatening condition, where he later died from his injuries.
