Man wanted Canada-wide found in Ontario: Calgary police

A man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant has been found in Ontario Thursday, according to Calgary police.

They say 52-year-old Patrick Leo McGann was arrested in London, Ont., by the Ontario Provincial Police Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) Squad.

“This was a coordinated effort that required support from our law enforcement partners across Canada, and we’d like to thank the OPP who were instrumental in locating and arresting McGann,” officers said in a news release.

McGann was wanted for nearly a month following an approved outing from the Southern Alberta Forensic Psychiatry Centre on Aug. 2.

Officers say arrangements are being made to bring the suspect back to the centre and to schedule a new court appearance.
