Serious injury collision on Calgary 4 Avenue Flyover closes bridge for a time
A person has been rushed to hospital after a serious injury collision on the 4 Avenue Flyover bridge Tuesday, Calgary police say.
As of 5 p.m., the bridge connecting to downtown Calgary was shut down.

Due to a serious-injury collision at Macleod Trail and Fourth Avenue S.E., several roads are expected to be closed, including the Fourth Avenue Flyover, Fifth Avenue and Macleod Trail.

EMS tells CityNews paramedics responded to Mcleod Trail and 4 Avenue SE at around 4:30 p.m.
They say the person has been sent to hospital in serious condition with life-threatening injuries.
The incident has also closed off traffic at 5 Avenue and 6 Street.

The closure led to backups on Memorial Drive all the way to Deerfoot Trail, and on Macleod Trail, things were backed up to near Cemetery Hill as of 6 p.m.
