What’s open and closed in Calgary this holiday Monday

The City of Calgary is adjusting the hours of some of its services Monday to mark Thanksgiving.
On Monday, Oct. 9, Calgary Transit will be operating CTrains and On Demand on a Sunday level of service.

Parking in on-street ParkPlus zones will be free on Monday, according to the city.
Weekend rates will apply in most of the city’s parking surface lots and parkades while regular rates will be in place for the Calgary Zoo, TELUS Spark, Riverwalk Parkade and University District.
The city says the impound lot will be closed.
The Spyhill, East Calgary and Shephard landfills are all open Monday, with the former operating from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the two later operating from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Calgary recreation will have modified hours of operation.
The last day of the season for Glenmore Resevoir kayak and canoe rentals is Monday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
A free public skate will be offered at Ernie Starr Arena (4808 14 Avenue SE) from 1 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.
Indoor pools, fitness centres and leisure centres, select arenas, arts centres, and Calgary Soccer Centre will be closed, by driving ranges and golf courses are open.
