1 dead, 2 seriously injured in Marlborough Park shooting

A shooting in Marlborough Park has left a man dead and two others with serious injuries.

Just before 2 p.m. Monday, police were called for reports of a shooting in the parking lot of the Trans Canada Centre on 52 Street NE.

When officers arrived, they found a man dead.

Two others were found at the scene and were taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, police say.

Investigators believe the shooters left the scene before police arrived.

Police now say there is no further threat to public safety.

Officers are continuing to patrol the the city in search of suspects.



Calgary police say they’ve also started to collect CCTV footage from the area as well as speak to witnesses.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 15.

Monday’s shooting is just one in a string of violent incidents in the city in less than a week.

Since Friday, there have been five shooting incidents in Calgary in the communities of Marlborough, Abbeydale, MacEwan, Bowness, and now, Marlborough Park.

Monday afternoon’s is the first of these to turn fatal.

Calgary police Acting Deputy Chief Cory Dayley is set to speak to the media at 4 p.m. to address the recent gun violence in the city.
