Murder charges laid in September Capitol Hill shooting

Calgary police say two people have been charged in the fatal shooting of a man in the city’s northwest in September.
Jordan Jacques-Vetten was shot to death on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2023 in the community of Capitol Hill, police say.
After a long investigation, police have laid second-degree murder charges against 25-year-old Robert Matthews, investigators said Wednesday.
An 18-year-old Chestermere man is also charged with second-degree murder.

He cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act because he was a minor at the time of the incident.
Both men are set to appear in court Wednesday.
Police say, at this time, there is no known relationship between the men and the victim.
However, police aren’t looking for any other suspects.
