“Tyson has been an integral part of the last five seasons with the Hitmen, including the challenges of the COVID period. He contributed to our team with class and terrific leadership and has been instrumental in the growth of our young group through past and in the current season,” Calgary Hitmen Vice President Mike Moore explained in a release.
“We have been privileged to have had Tyson in our organization since we drafted him and wish him success in Swift Current.”
In 216 games with the Hitmen, Galloway put up 77 points. After wearing a letter for two years, he was named the franchise’s 31st captain this season.
Born in Kamloops, B.C., Galloway joined the Hitmen after going 25th overall in the 2018 WHL Prospects Draft. He was also selected in the fifth round of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft by the St. Louis Blues.
The Galloway move comes on the WHL trade deadline.
The next action for the Hitmen is Friday at the Saddledome for a matinee against Spokane.
Calgary sits fifth in the Central Division with a 15-17-5-1 record.
