Two dead in Highway 2A crash south of Calgary

Two people are dead after a crash on a highway south of Calgary on Friday afternoon.

Emergency crews were called to Highway 2A north of High River for a serious two-vehicle collision around 3:15 p.m.

Paramedics tell CityNews two people were pronounced dead at the scene. A third person was taken to hospital by STARS air ambulance in serious but non-life-threatening condition.

There is no word on the cause of the crash.

Highway 2A is closed in both directions between 434 Avenue and 466 Avenue. Motorists are being asked to avoid the area.
