Child taken to hospital following crash on Trans Canada Highway west of Calgary

STARS Air Ambulance took a child to hospital after a vehicle accident on the Trans Canada Highway west of Calgary Wednesday morning.

In a post to social media, STARS says emergency crews were dispatched for an emergency in the Lac Des Arcs area around 7:15 a.m.

STARS tells CityNews a child was taken to the Alberta Children’s Hospital after a motor vehicle collision with serious, non-life threatening injuries.

An adult was also taken to Foothills Hospital by ground ambulance with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Lac Des Arcs is about one hour from Calgary via Highway 1 on the way to Canmore and Banff.

Callers to the CityNews660 traffic centre said there was congestion in the area following the incident.
