Motorcyclist hurt after crashing into back of truck in NE Calgary

A motorcyclist has serious injuries after a highway collision involving a truck in northeast Calgary on Monday afternoon.

Police tell CityNews a motorcycle crashed into the back of a truck in the northbound lanes of Deerfoot Trail near 64 Avenue NE around 12:45 p.m.

Paramedics confirm one person was rushed to hospital in serious but stable condition.

The right lane of northbound Deerfoot was blocked at 64 Avenue but the scene was cleared around 1:15 p.m.

There is no word on the cause of the crash.

This is the second serious motorcycle collision in Calgary in the last 24 hours. Police say speed was a factor in a motorcycle crash on Sunday night that left a man with life-altering injuries.
