Calgary massage therapist charged in alleged sexual assaults of clients

A massage therapist is facing charges after allegedly sexually assaulting clients at his northeast Calgary home.

A massage therapist is facing charges after allegedly sexually assaulting clients at his northeast Calgary home.

Calgary police say the suspect was running a massage business out of his home in the area of Harvest Hills Blvd NE and 96 Avenue NE and sexually assaulted two clients earlier this year.

Investigators say the first incident occurred on Apr. 27 when a victim went to the home for a massage appointment. It is alleged the suspect sexually assaulted the victim who fled and later called police.

On May 17, a second victim went to the home and was allegedly sexually assault during their own appointment.

Police have charged 65-year-old Shi Jun (John) Zhang, who also goes by the name John Clinic, with two counts of sexual assault. Zhang is scheduled to appear court on Sep. 25.

Calgary Police Service (CPS) detectives have engaged with the Natural Health Practitioners of Canada and The City of Calgary Business Licensing and Permits as part of their investigation.
