A data breach has forced the closure of all public library locations across Calgary.
Calgary Public Library put out a notice on Friday that they were closing all of their branches as of 5 p.m. due to a cybersecurity issue.
CPL says all of its servers and library computer access will be shut off, and all holds will be extended.
“Data security is a key priority for the library and our security team is working diligently to determine the scope of the breach,” says the library in a statement.
“We will provide timely updates of the Library’s closures as more information becomes available.”
There is no word when the locations will reopen.
This is a developing story. More to come.
