Mayor to kick off sixth annual Calgary Climate Symposium

The sixth annual Calgary Climate Symposium begins Monday with a focus on innovation, resilience, community empowerment, and equity.
Mayor Jyoti Gondek will join other leaders to kick off the conference at the Central Public Library.
Sessions run through Friday and will cover topics such as the journey to net-zero and climate resilience, home energy performance, equity in climate action, electric vehicles, e-bikes, e-scooters, and urban mobility solutions, and more.
“The Climate Symposium is a great opportunity, offering a platform for Calgarians to engage with innovative ideas and sustainable practices,” Gondek said. “Everyone has a part to play in taking climate action, reducing the impacts of extreme weather events and preserving and protecting Calgary’s natural environment. Together, we can build a more innovative, diverse and resilient city today and for future generations.”
The theme for this year’s symposium is ‘Innovating for a Resilient and Equitable Future: Calgary’s Path to Climate Solutions,’ which the city says captures the spirit of innovation, resilience, community empowerment and equity, all while emphasizing Calgary’s efforts to be a leader in sustainable solutions.
Learning sessions are free and can be accessed through Microsoft Teams. Recordings of those sessions will be available online next month.
