Two injured in collision on Calgary’s Deerfoot Trail

Two people taken to hospital after a vehicle collision on Calgary’s Deerfoot Trail Wednesday.

A section of Calgary’s Deerfoot Trail was closed Wednesday morning due to what police initially described as a serious injury collision.

Northbound Deerfoot Trail between Memorial Drive and 16 Avenue NE was shut down just before 7 a.m. and reopened around 10 a.m.

Images from traffic cameras in the area appeared to show a vehicle sitting on its roof.

EMS tells 660 NewsRadio the accident involved two vehicles and once on scene, paramedics assessed two adults — each the single occupant of their vehicle.

Both people were taken to Foothills Medical Centre, one in serious but stable condition and one in stable, non-life threatening condition.

Drivers were asked to find an alternative route during the morning commute.
