Calgary Public Library say account access has been restored starting Thursday, allowing members to process returns and holds once again.

The Calgary Public Library (CPL) says members will finally be able to access their accounts this week after the library’s servers were compromised in a cyberattack last month.

The breach on Oct. 11 forced CPL to close all of its branches, but officials said no business, employee, or membership data was affected.

The library locations reopened five days later with limited services, but haven’t been able to go back to business as usual.

On Wednesday, CPL said its moving to stage two of its recovery and members will be able to access their accounts on Thursday. Branches will also be able to start accepting returns and processing holds.

All loans are being extended until Dec. 16 and there no late fines.

The library expects a full return to services at some point in December.
