Snowfall warning for Calgary, up to 25 centimetres could fall through weekend: ECCC

A significant amount of snow is on the way for Calgary, prompting a snowfall warning from Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC).

The weather agency issued the alert around 4:30 a.m., saying snow will begin Friday morning and accumulate to five to 10 centimetres by Saturday morning.

It won’t stop there — ECCC says heavier snow will start Saturday morning and accumulate to 10 to 15 centimetres by the evening before tapering off.

Visibility for drivers may suddenly reduced due to the snow, and surfaces like highways, roads, walkways, and parking thoughts may be challenging to drive through due to the conditions.

Drivers are advised to prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating road conditions.
