    A man has been rushed to hospital after being struck by a vehicle in downtown Calgary Monday, EMS says.

    EMS public education officer Stuart Brideaux tells 660 NewsRadio paramedics responded to 3 Street and 9 Avenue SE at around 5:30 a.m.

    They found a man upon arrival and rushed him to Foothills Hospital in serious condition.

    The pedestrian hit led Calgary police to close a portion of 9 Avenue and 3 Street for several hours as they investigated.

    The section reopened at around 11:50 a.m.

    Police, paramedics, and the fire department attended the scene.
