Suspects sought in series of ATM break-and-enters across Calgary

Calgary police are seeking the public's help in identifying two suspects believed to be behind four attempted ATM break-ins in 2024.

Police are asking for help identifying two people who they believe tried to break into several ATM machines across the city last year.

Calgary police say they got reports of four break-and-enters between Oct. 25, 2024 and Dec. 21, 2024 where suspects tried to access ATMs at the following locations:

  • Oct. 25 near Crowfoot Crossing
  • Nov. 9 near 85 Street and 8A Avenue SW
  • Nov. 17 near Richmond Road and 29 Street SW
  • Dec. 21 near Bowness Road and 63 Street NW

After further investigation, police believe the same two suspects were involved in all four incidents.

In each case, police allege security footage shows two people entering ATM vestibules between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. before trying to gain access to the vault areas of the ATM. Only one of the attempts to get at the cash inside was successful.

The suspects would then flee the area in a vehicle before officers arrived.

Police have released photos of the two suspects and vehicles in hopes a member of the public will be able to identify them.

Investigators believe the suspects drove different vehicles for each attempt. It is believed they drove a grey 2015-2016 Dodge Caravan in one case, and a grey 2012-2014 Audi Q7 in another.

Police are not sure if the vehicles were stolen or not.
