Suspects sought after food truck set on fire in SE Calgary

In the early hours of January 31st, three individuals were spotted along High Street SE in McKenzie Towne Centre, who allegedly broke into a food truck before setting it on fire from the inside.

Police are looking for three suspects after a food truck was set on fire in southeast Calgary last month.

Emergency crews were called to a business in the community of McKenzie Towne in the early morning hours of Jan. 31.

Calgary police say three people were seen prowling along High Street SE before the group broke into a food truck behind a business and allegedly set it on fire from the inside.

The damage to the food truck is estimated at $20,000.

The three suspects ran away on foot, according to police.

Police are looking for three people described as:

  • A man with a slim build and light skin tone who was last seen wearing a black jacket with a white zipper and black pants, white running shoes, and a red or orange and grey backpack
  • A man with a slim build and light skin tone who was last seen wearing a black Nike hoodie, black pants and white runners
  • A woman who was last seen wearing a black three-quarter length jacket with light blue jeans and black boots

Police are asking anyone who lives or works in the area to keep any security footage they may have from midnight to 4 a.m. on Jan. 31.
