One person has serious injuries after a crash on Calgary’s Deerfoot Trail that briefly shut down a stretch of the highway on Thursday evening.
Emergency crews were called to the northbound lanes of the highway near the Calf Robe Bridge around 5:45 p.m. for reports of a crash.
Calgary police say one person was rushed to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
There is no word on the cause of the crash.
The northbound lanes of Deerfoot were closed north of Glenmore for more than an hour. The right lane reopened around 6:45 p.m.
The closure caused significant traffic backups for northbound traffic during the early evening hours.
