One man has been taken to hospital after a hit and run in the city’s Northeast Wednesday -- which police say could be the result of road rage

Road rage between two drivers led to one of them being struck by the other in a parking lot in northeast Calgary on Wednesday afternoon.

Calgary police say they were called to a Denny’s restaurant at McKnight Boulevard and 4 Street NE around 1:55 p.m. for reports of someone being struck by a vehicle.

Investigators say the incident stemmed from a road rage argument that began several blocks away. The two drivers ended up in the Denny’s parking lot when one got out of their vehicle and was allegedly struck by the vehicle of the other driver.

The suspect vehicle left the area, according to police.

The victim was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The investigation is ongoing and police speak to witnesses and collect security footage.

Anyone with additional information is being urged to contact police.
