Dramatic security footage from a Calgary vape shop captures the moment a truck crashes through the store’s front window during a robbery.

Calgary police say they were alerted to an alarm at the One Stop Vape Shop at 17 Avenue SE and 52 Street SE at 5:35 a.m. Wednesday.

Officers arrived to find the business had been broken into with the owner saying a bunch of disposable vapes had been stolen.

The store’s sales manager says the damage is far worse than it appears.

“With something like this, we are talking about $50,000 with the damage easy,” says Chris Frazer-Harrison. “I haven’t gone through it all yet and the amount of product that has been stolen, but this might put us out of business.”

Frazer-Harrison says this isn’t the first time their store has been hit — there was another break-in last month, and last year, they were even robbed at gunpoint. He believes vape stores are being increasingly targeted because of the high-value products they carry.

“This is really upsetting, and why this is occurring more and more is due to the price of the product going up by 250 per cent by the federal tax, and by the tax that Danielle Smith has put in this year’s budget,” he says.

He hopes the security footage and information will help police track down the suspects and bring them to justice.

CPS say they are working on suspect and vehicle descriptions.
