Vehicle hits building, another flips in Beltline crash; Suspected impaired driver arrested

Crews are on the scene of a crash in Calgary’s Beltline Tuesday morning.

Police say it happened just before 5 a.m. at 1437 17 Avenue SW.

The incident involves two vehicles, one which hit the Top Dollar Pawn building, and another that flipped over.

According to police, one person was taken to hospital as precaution.

Another individual was arrested on suspicion of driving impaired.

Police anticipated traffic disruptions in the area to be minimal.

However, the intersection of 14 Street and 17 Avenue SW was closed in all directions for around three hours.

Police say the building is currently being assessed for structural integrity and crews remain on scene.
