6-year-old hurt after being struck by vehicle in SW Calgary

A young child is hurt after they were hit by a vehicle in the Southwood community in southwest Calgary on Friday evening.

EMS says emergency crews were called to the 11000 block of 11 Street South of Southampton Drive around 8 p.m. for reports of a collision.

Calgary police say a 6-year-old child was struck by a vehicle and rushed to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. EMS said he is in stable condition.

The driver remained at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
