A student massage therapist is facing charges after he “inappropriately touched” a client during a massage at a Calgary clinic.

Calgary police say a female victim went for a massage at the Professional Institute of Management & Technology near Kensington Road and 14 Street NW on March 18.

It is alleged a second-year student massage therapist touched the victim inappropriately several times during the message.

The victim reported it to staff at the clinic after the message and they began an internal investigation. The incident was eventually reported to police.

Police have charged a 21-year-old with one count of sexual assault. The accused will appear in a Calgary courtroom on Apr. 23.

The student attended the clinic from January 2024 to March 2025, according to police.

Anyone with additional information is being urged to call police at 403-266-1234, or submit tips to CrimeStoppers anonymously.
