Calgary fire crews were called in to battle multiple grass fires in the city’s southwest on Monday.
The fires near the Douglas Fir Trail were reportedly called in by a golfer playing a round at the Shaganappi Point Golf Course around 10 a.m.
Additional calls came in for fires on the north side of the train tracks, according to Carol Henke with the Calgary Fire Department (CFD).
CFD dispatched additional resources, including a tender, four bush buggies, a gator, and two engines.
The fire were put out by 2 p.m. and no injuries were reported.
Henke says CPKC Rail was notified and some pathways in the area were shut down. Calgary police are asking the public to avoid all pathways south of the Bow River between the community of Spruce Cliff and Crowchild Trail SW.
The investigation into cause of the fires is ongoing. Anyone with information is being urged to contact the Calgary Fire Department.
