A man in his 60s has been left with life-altering injuries after being involved in a hit-and-run in downtown Calgary early Wednesday morning.
Police say just before 12:30 a.m., officers were called to the area of 11 Street and 11 Avenue SW for reports of a collision.
Investigators believe there was a fight between a 63-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman on the sidewalk, when a light-coloured SUV entered the adjacent parking lot.
There was an interaction between the driver and the man, police say, and the pedestrian was ultimately hit by the vehicle.
He was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Investigators say the driver fled the scene and was last seen driving west along 11 Avenue SW.
Speed, alcohol, and drugs aren’t considered to be factors at this time.
Police continue to search for the vehicle and the driver.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have CCTV footage or dashcam footage from the area at the time of the incident is asked to contact police at 403-266-1234 or tip anonymously through CrimeStoppers.
