Death of man at downtown Calgary high rise not suspicious: police

A young man from Siksika Nation is being remembered with heartbreak and admiration after his sudden death in Calgary over the weekend.

The death of a man downtown over the weekend has been deemed non-criminal, Calgary police say.

Police were called to 3 Street SE around 5 a.m. on Sunday following reports a man had fallen from a high-rise balcony.

He was found by officers in medical distress and taken to hospital in life-threatening condition.

The man eventually succumbed to his injuries in hospital.

The Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit was called in to investigate the death.

After a review of all evidence, including CCTV from the area, conversations with multiple witnesses, and an autopsy, the death has now been classified as non-suspicious/

As the incident is not criminal in nature, police say no further information will be released.
