Grenade discovery forces closure of Taber museum, aquatic centre

Both a museum and an aquatic centre in southern Alberta had to be shut down Thursday due to a grenade.

Taber Police Service say they got reports from staff at the Taber Interpretive Centre Museum about the discovery of an old intact grenade.

The museum and nearby Aquafun Centre were closed due to caution. Police are remaining on scene until bomb disposal experts “can deal with the grenade.”

The Aquafun Centre is expected to reopen shortly, while the museum remains closed.

Residents are being asked to avoid the area.
