Police are trying to identify a man believed to have stolen an e-bike from outside a pub in southeast Calgary last month.
Calgary police say the owner of an e-bike went to Partners Pub near 18 Street SE and Glenmore Trail SE around 11:45 a.m. on May 16 to pick up a food order.
The owner parked his bike in front of the pub, and when he came out around 10 minutes later, the bike was gone. Police say the e-bike is the victim’s main source of transportation.
Investigators reviewed security footage and found out that a suspect with a dog walked past the bike around 11:47 a.m. The same suspect allegedly returned at 11:53 a.m. and took the bike.
The footage shows the suspect riding the bike through the parking lot of the pub and crossing 18 Street SE, before heading into an alley.
Police say a witness reported seeing a man riding the bike away from the pub, heading westbound on 76 Avenue SE.
The suspect is described as a 40 to 50 year-old man, 5’8″ to 6’0″ tall with a slim build and brown hair. He was last seen wearing black pants, a black hoodie with ‘Tommy Hilfiger’ written in white lettering, a black Nike hat, white sunglasses, a black shoulder bag, and black-and-white shoes.
The dog that was with the suspect is described as a white pit bull with a brown spot on the middle of its back and a brown backside.
The e-bike is described as a yellow Fucare Libra suspension 750W electric bike with a custom seat, a camera and light on the back, and a sticker on the front down tube.
