Man walking with gun arrested in NW Calgary: police

A man reportedly walking around with a firearm in a neighbourhood in Highland Park in the city’s northwest on Friday was arrested, Calgary police said.

Officers were called to the 3600 block of 2 Street NW just after 8 p.m.

The suspect was spotted and taken into custody when cops arrived on scene. Officers say the firearm he was holding was a rifle.

No injuries were reported, nor were shots fired.

An investigation is underway.
