Two people were taken to hospital Tuesday following a suspected carbon monoxide leak at a northeast Calgary casino.

Alberta Health Services tells CityNews, crews responded to the area of Pure Calgary Casino around 3 p.m. for reports of a possible CO exposure.

When paramedics got there, all occupants of the building had self-evacuated.

The Calgary Fire Department (CFD) confirmed elevated levels of the toxic gas inside the building.

All evacuees were assessed by EMS, two of which were taken in stable, non-life threatening condition to Peter Lougheed Hospital.

After a sweep by fire crews and ATCO, the building was cleared to reopen less than an hour later.
