Two dead in hit-and-run on Siksika Nation

Alberta RCMP say two men are dead and a woman is in hospital in critical condition after a group walking on Siksika Nation Saturday were plowed over by a vehicle.

Investigators say on July 26 around 9:30 p.m., Gleichen RCMP were called to reports of a motor vehicle crash at 54 Map 3 Subdivision on Siksika.

When officers arrived, they found two people dead and a third in life-threatening condition. Two other people weren’t physically injured.

Police have since determined the group of people were walking when they were hit by a vehicle.

The vehicle left the scene.

RCMP say the deceased are a 27-year-old man and a 45-year-old man, both from Siksika Nation.

The injured is a 45-year-old woman, also from Siksika. She remains in hospital in critical condition.

Police are looking for anyone who may have video footage from the area between 8 and 10 p.m. on Saturday.
