Calgary SE Deerfoot crash sends 2 to hospital in critical condition

Two people were rushed to hospital in critical condition after their vehicle lost control and struck the overpass on southbound Deerfoot Trail in southeast Calgary Sunday. Phoenix Phillips reports.

Two people are in critical condition after their vehicle lost control and struck the overpass on southbound Deerfoot Trail in southeast Calgary Sunday.

Calgary police say it happened at around 1:30 p.m. on Deerfoot Trail at Cranston Avenue, approaching Seton Boulevard.

Officers say one of the two occupants was ejected from the vehicle in the incident.

The two in critical condition have been rushed to the hospital.

Southbound Deerfoot Trail was closed between Stoney Trail and Cranston Boulevard/Seton Boulevard SE for several hours. The roads reopened around 8 p.m.

Calgary police are asking motorists to avoid the area until roads reopen.
