A 47-year-old Calgary man faces criminal charges after a hit-and-run in a Lethbridge parking lot left multiple pedestrians injured Friday night.
Calls to the Lethbridge Police Service came in about 6:30 p.m., with emergency crews arriving to find a man and woman in their 70s, along with a 46-year-old man.
The three were rushed to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries after they were struck by the driver of a 2022 Mazda CX5 in the Visitlethbridge.com Arena parking lot.
The suspect narrowly missed hitting several more people in the arena parking lot and fled before police arrived.
Officers say the same vehicle struck a parked one a short distance away, but did not stop.
A short time later, Lethbridge police caught up with the vehicle and the driver was arrested.
Police are still investigating what led to the hit-and-runs, and there is nothing to suggest the driver was impaired.
