East Calgary power outage that impacted thousands resolved

By CityNews Staff

A brief power outage that impacted thousands of customers on Calgary’s east side Thursday morning has been mostly resolved.

Around 9 a.m., the power company reported 5,305 customers in Applewood Park, Abbeydale, Red Carpet, Belvedere, Huxley, Twinhills, and Rocky View County were without power. That number had been reduced to 72 approximately an hour later.

Nearby, 2,201 people in Marlborough, Marlborough Park, Forest Heights and Franklin were also impacted; that incident has since been resolved.

It is unclear what the cause of the outages were, but Enmax says it is investigating.
