Calgary’s seventh annual Climate Symposium is underway this week, featuring opportunities for citizens to learn about saving money, cutting emissions, and reducing climate risk at home, on campus, and at work.
The theme for this year’s five-day event, which began Monday, is Resilient by Design: Creating a Future-Ready Calgary.
All sessions are virtual and accessible to everyone via the city’s website.
Recordings will also be posted to the site following the event for those who couldn’t catch it in real time.
Topics include local solutions for affordable, clean energy, building for resilience and high performance in Alberta, community climate action, Indigenous innovation and urban accessibility, strengthening Alberta’s homes and infrastructure for climate resilience, urban agriculture and food resilience, clean energy innovations, electric mobility, energy-efficient design, and urban well-being.
Event speakers come from a variety of backgrounds, such as climate science, decarbonization, interdisciplinary curriculum, net-zero home building, family medicine, public health, and more.
