AHS warns of measles exposure at Calgary airport, arriving flight

Alberta Health Services has been notified of a person with confirmed measles who has been in public settings while infectious.

Provincial health officials are warning of measles exposure at several public settings, including the Calgary airport.

Alberta Health Services (AHS) has confirmed that a person with measles was out in public while infectious and has provided a list of locations where people may have been exposed.

Exposure Locations and Times

  • KLM Flight #677 Nov. 22, 2025 — Departed Amsterdam Airport Schiphol at 4:54 a.m. MST from Gate 10D, arriving at Calgary International Airport at 1:29 p.m.
  • Calgary International Airport (YYC), Nov. 22, 2025 — International arrivals, customs, and baggage claim areas between 1:30 p.m. and 4:15 p.m.
  • Claresholm General Hospital, Emergency Department, Nov. 24, 2025 — 221 43 Ave W, Claresholm, AB, between 5:43 p.m. and 10:23 p.m.

AHS advises that anyone present at these locations during the specified times may have been exposed to measles. Individuals born in or after 1970 who have received fewer than two documented doses of a measles-containing vaccine, or who have never had measles, are considered at risk.

Those at risk should self-monitor for symptoms and review their immunization records. Measles symptoms typically include fever, cough, runny nose, red eyes, and a characteristic rash.

People who may have been exposed and who develop symptoms should also call ahead before visiting a healthcare facility to prevent further spread.

Public health officials emphasize that measles is highly contagious but preventable through vaccination.
