Beltline food hall closed by Alberta Health Services for pest activity

Alberta Health Services shuts down 11 restaurants at popular Calgary beltline food hall. Phoenix Phillips reports.

A Beltline eatery has been forced to close by Alberta Health Services (AHS) after inspectors found pest activity.

First Street Market, a food hall which houses 10 restaurants, was the subject of an inspection Friday.

“Based on those findings, AHS required a temporary closure so the issue can be properly treated and resolved,” First Street Market said in a statement posted to social media. “All vendors are taking this situation very seriously, and we at First Street Market take full responsibility for ensuring the market meets the highest standards of safety and cleanliness.”

The food hall will have to remain closed until the issue is sufficiently resolved per AHS.
