Murder charges laid after woman found dead in Tsuut’ina Nation

A homicide investigation that began earlier this month, west of Calgary, has led to a murder charge against a 40‑year‑old woman.

According to the Tsuut’ina Nation Police Service, emergency crews were called to Wintergreen Road at 7:30 a.m. on Jan. 5 for reports of an unconscious woman.

The 29‑year‑old was pronounced dead at the scene, and police quickly deemed the circumstances suspicious, launching an investigation.

Two weeks later, on Jan. 19, investigators arrested Amanda Audrey Nicole Crane, 40. She is now charged with second‑degree murder.

Police say the identity of the victim will not be released, honouring the wishes of her family.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Tsuut’ina Nation Police Service at 403‑271‑3777 or submit tips anonymously to CrimeStoppers.
