Mounties are searching for a man who tried to break into a home while wielding knives in southwest Didsbury on Tuesday.
Officers responded to a break-and-enter report at around 4:40 p.m. on Jan. 27 in the town north of Calgary.
A masked man reportedly approached a family outside their home, but when he attempted to enter it “brandishing” two knives, RCMP say the family was able to force him out.
No injuries were reported.
The suspect is described as being 6′ tall, 250 pounds, and may be associated with a Black Chevrolet Malibu.
Because the incident is believed to be isolated, investigators say there is no ongoing risk to the public.
“Incidents of this nature are extremely rare in the Town of Didsbury,” said Cpl. Troy Savinkoff.
