Meth lab found in NE Calgary shed during police raid

Calgary police say four people have been charged in relation to the seizure of drugs, weapons and cash, and the discovery of a drug production lab.

Four people are facing charges after Calgary police uncovered a functioning meth lab hidden inside a shed, along with a stash of drugs, weapons and cash.

Officers executed a search warrant on Jan. 30, at a home on Coral Springs Boulevard NE, following a month‑long investigation sparked by reports of suspicious activity in the neighbourhood.

During the search, police say they discovered a methamphetamine production lab inside a shed.

The search turned up a range of drugs, including cocaine, meth, heroin and GHB, with an estimated street value of more than $10,000. Officers also seized $7,210 in cash, materials believed to be used in drug manufacturing, stolen property, a vehicle‑theft device, and several weapons such as a baton, stun gun, butterfly knife, firearm parts and ammunition.

Four Calgary residents now face a combined slate of drug, weapons and property‑related charges.

  • Michael Richard Currie, 42, charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of dangerous and prohibited weapons, proceeds of crime, possession of a theft device and production of a controlled substance.
  • Darris Jan Bert Watroba, 36, is charged with production of a controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine and possession of prescription medication.
  • Daneal Patricia Graham, 45, faces charges including breaching a release order, possession of meth and cocaine, and possession of a stolen driver’s licence.
  • Jennifer Anne Fitger, 46, remains in custody and is charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime.

Police are asking anyone with information about the investigation to contact the non‑emergency line at 403‑266‑1234 or submit anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers.
