Canada’s Alan Doyle releases single and EP ahead of Calgary tour stop

There’s no quit in Alan Doyle.

The Canadian singer, best known for his time with Great Big Sea, has put out another single and video entitled ‘Take It Easy With Me’ ahead of the release of his EP ‘Already Dancing’ on Feb. 20.

The song came together over a rare couple days off while Doyle was in the Dominican Republic for a concert and has a real laid-back, island-tropics feel to it.

It comes on the heels of the first single “Nancy” — with tour openers, The East Pointers — as well as Doyle’s version of the 1986 Spirit of the West classic, ‘The Crawl’ — with the band’s legendary co-founder Geoffrey Kelly on whistle and vocals.

Doyle will begin a 48-date North American tour on Feb. 27, including a stop at the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium on March 22.

660 NewsRadio’s Todd Kaufman caught up with Doyle prior to the start of the tour.
