Pedestrian in life-threatening condition after crash in SE Calgary

A collision in southeast Calgary has left one man seriously injured.

A 40-year-old man was seriously hurt Wednesday evening after being hit by a vehicle in Calgary’s southeast.

Police say shortly before 5:30 p.m., a black 2007 Cadillac Escalade, driven by a man in his 40s, was travelling southbound on 2 Street SE approaching Southland Drive SE, when it hit a pedestrian.

The man was crossing 2 Street SE eastbound in an unmarked crosswalk. He was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver wasn’t hurt and stayed at the scene.

Speed and impairment aren’t thought to be factors in the incident.
