Pause for Pets: Six-year-old pitbull mix Harlow

In this week’s Pause For Pets, we introduce you to a middle-aged dog biding her time in temporary housing at the city’s animal shelter.

Six years old, Harlow is a pretty pitbull mix. Gentle and affectionate, she thrives on forging friendships with humans. Harlow’s mastered the basics like sit, down and paw, and if you have treats, she is more than willing to upgrade her skills to earn a few kibbles.

On meet and greet, Harlow can be shy, but once she makes a connection, she is your best bud.

She loves spending time with her people — one-on-one attention, whether that’s training, walks, or simply hanging out. She’s playful and still loves to learn.

If you’re looking for an older dog with a lot of spunk, Harlow is ready to find her forever home, an adult-only place with a fenced yard.

As her temporary hosts explain, Harlow “may not be the life of the party, but she is the heart of the room once you get to know her.”

For more information call 311 and tell them you want to know more about a gem, named Harlow.
