Two men shot after leaving NE Calgary banquet hall; suspects sought

Calgary police are asking for the public’s help after two men showed up at a northeast hospital with gunshot wounds last month.

Police are looking for information after two men showed up at a Calgary hospital with gunshot wounds late last month.

Calgary police say the men arrived at Peter Lougheed hospital in the early morning hours of March 28 with injuries consistent with gunshots.

Officers searched several areas in an effort to locate a scene but found no evidence of a shooting, and no related reports were made to police. Both victims have since been released from the hospital.

Investigators later confirmed the men had been at the Empire Banquet Hall near 12 Street NE and McKnight Blvd earlier that night.

Footage from security cameras shows them leaving shortly after midnight, but police say it remains unclear where or when the shooting took place.

Police believe the attack was likely targeted but are appealing for anyone who may have information, including the location of the shooting, to come forward.

Anyone who witnessed suspicious activity or vehicles in the area that night are urged to contact police at 403-266-1234. Anonymous tips can be submitted to Crime Stoppers.
